First Aid at Work (FAW) Course or Requalification Course Content

The First Aid at Work course is run from 9am to 4pm over 3 days (the Requalification Course is run over 2 days). We are able to change the timings if you have any specific training needs. Both of these courses will have a small competence based assessment at the end run by a suitably qualified external verifier.

On completion of the course the participants will be competent to administer First Aid to a casualty with:

  1. injuries to bones, muscles and joints, including suspected spinal injuries
  2. chest injuries
  3. burns and scalds
  4. eye injuries
  5. sudden poisoning
  6. anaphylactic shock
  7. recognise the presence of major illness (including heart attack, stroke, epilepsy, asthma, diabetes) and provide appropriate First Aid

At the end of this course you will receive an First Aid at Work Certificate, to comply with Health and Safety (First Aid), 1981, approved Code of Practice L74, 1st October, 2013, which is valid for three years.
